TURNING POINT: Cradle Aspect Pattern or “Barbault’s Basket”
The Cradle is an aspect pattern consisting of an opposition between two planets that are mediated by two other planets that are sextile to each other, while also making harmonious aspects (the trine and sextile) to the two planets opposing each other. The planets making harmonious aspects to the opposing planets act as mediators between them.On the chart, this looks like a basket or cradle. Barbault was a mundane astrologer who predicted a period of “collective crisis” in 2020 that was later linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. Another prediction of his was this cradle pattern, going exact on July 20th, 2026, as a turning point that heralds a reorganization of world power. The formation of the basket aspect pattern is as follows:
Jupiter in Leo Opposite Pluto in Aquarius: This aspect brings tension, these two planets are at odds and can be thought of as having a disagreement. Leo is associated with leadership, societal authorities, monarchical lines, government structures, and military authority. Aquarius represents the masses, the human public, social collectives, communities, and generally, those who are governed. This is a classic “us vs them” aspect. Right now, we are in times where the governing structures have turned against their people or are at odds with their people. The people feel unprotected by the structures they are governed by and are mobilizing against them in order to change their circumstances.
Neptune in Aries sextile Uranus in Gemini:This aspect is harmonious, these two planets are working together, and can be thought of as middle men or mutual friends who can mediate the disagreement between the opposing planets. Neptune is what we collectively idealize, connected to the media - it signals the images and ideas that we share with others in society and collectively aspire to. Neptune in Aries is hungry for something new and willing to fight for it, new world orders based on what we believe to be permissible are typically cemented under this transit. Uranus is what we collectively think , trends, and is the catalyst for social change through disruptions and innovations to how we communicate, organize, and operate. Uranus in Gemini disrupts the way we communicate with each other through technological evolution. During this transit in the early 1940s, during WW2 - we saw the advent of radio communications. Now, it is associated with the advent of AI. Neptune and Uranus sextile in these signs are working together to bring large scale social change. We can look at these planets to be part of manufacturing consent - Neptune changes attitudes, Uranus provides the pathways to enact.
Uranus in Gemini sextiles Jupiter in Leo:This aspect is harmonious, Uranus in Gemini understands Jupiter in Leo and their natures support each other consciously with effort. Charismatic public figures represented by Jupiter in Leo are able to utilize the new technologies represented by Uranus in Gemini to further their aims and reach the masses represented by Pluto in Aquarius.
Uranus in Gemini trines Pluto in Aquarius: This aspect is harmonious, Uranus in Gemini understands Pluto in Aquarius instinctively, these two are in natural agreement and their natures support each other unconsciously. Under this aspect, the collective represented by Pluto in Aquarius is under increased influence by the technologies and through processes represented by Uranus in Gemini, and vice versa, naturally adopting the available tech for their own goals and changing it if necessary.
Neptune in Aries trines Jupiter in Leo: This aspect is harmonious, Neptune in Aries understands Jupiter in Leo instinctively. These two are in natural agreement and their natures support each other unconsciously. The public figures or ruling class represented by Jupiter in Leo are under increased influence by the ideas, beliefs, and media images represented by Naptune in Aries, and vice versa. They may exert their influence to usher in new ideas that support their goals via the media, and feel emboldened (aries energy) to take greater control over or “conquer” others.
Neptune in Aries sextiles Pluto in Aquarius:This aspect is harmonious, Neptune in arouse understands Pluto in Aquarius and their natures support each other consciously with effort. The collective represented by Pluto in Aquarius is under increased influence of the ideas, beliefs, and media images represented by Neptune in Aries, and vice versa.
July Sky Events
July 1: Jupiter in Leo squares Chiron in Taurus
Wounds concerning scarcity, lack, and insecurity threaten the blessings that can come from risk-taking, visibility, and self-promotion. Pushing through this anyway could yield promising results. This aspect is a caution to not overdo it, not to “fake it till you make it” or stretch yourself beyond your means - if you insist on having fun, make sure you have the resources to support it. On a mundane level, we could be on the heels of some serious economic trouble fueled by hubris and tyrannical, egotistical leadership.
July 2: Mars in Gemini square the Nodes.
Squares to the nodes indicate a missed step, a disruption in the balance of the energy of the nodes. When Mars squares the nodes, its action, drive, and energy that are out of step with those of the nodes. The south node in virgo is oriented towards decisive, laser focused attention to details, the north node in pisces is oriented towards a focus on the biggest picture, opening oneself to possibilities that go beyond Virgo's material perfection. Mars in Gemini does not care to meticulously parse details or devote itself to creating new realities - it mainly wants to explore cerebrally and collect information, jumping around to whatever is of interest.
July 4: Mars conjunct Uranus at 3 Gemini.
This aspect is the one most of us astrologers are looking at, from a mundane perspective it has been interpreted as a sudden shock to the financial & government systems that affect everyday life. The general advice is to steer clear of conflict, particularly verbal and written as they have the capacity to escalate unexpectedly. Unexpected events and unpredictable energy levels are characteristic of this aspect.
July 5: Mars in Gemini sextile Neptune in Aries
Cerebral exploration supports spiritual goals. What we can learn, debate, consider and reconsider can help us be inspired, uncover new spiritual truths, heal and create. A generally good time to try doing something new or doing something old a new way, the connections you make from trying things you don't typically do can be applied to the things you love to do.
July 6: Sun in Cancer square Saturn in Aries
With this aspect, Saturn tests the Sun through chaos, instability, and insecurity. Without solid rules and consistent systems, it becomes difficult to nurture and care for something so that it reaches their full potential. Sun in cancer needs stability and alignment, saturn in aries needs risk and self-definition. Expect challenges to the area of your chart that cancer occupies. The impatience of saturn in aries conflicts with cancer’s steady approach. The vulnerability of the sun in cancer conflicts with aries’ warrior mindset and appetite for risk. The area of your chart that cancer occupies is being brought into focus and challenged by saturn in aries.
July 6: Mars in Gemini trine Pluto in Aquarius
This is a good aspect for networking, community action, socializing, and achieving one’s goals through social exchange. Pluto gives Mars in Gemini a boost - more energy to multi-task. Generally, it is a good time to vocalize - speak about the things you’re trying to accomplish, exchange ideas with those around you. You never know who is listening, what they know, and who they could connect you with. There is also
July 7: Neptune stations retrograde at 4 Aries
Neptune stations retrograde every year for approximately 5 months. This retrograde period begins on July 7th and ends December 12th of this year. At 4 (cancer degree) Aries, this retrograde will strip away illusions in the part of your chart that aries occupies, particularly as it relates to comfort and safety. At this time way may have to collectively come to terms with the fact that we are not as safe or prepared as we thought we are. Whatever you’ve been using to mask discontent, even unconsciously, won't work anymore. Now is the time to get real with yourself.
July 9: Venus enters Virgo
Venus enters the sign of its fall. The illusions of perfectionism are shattered as the flaws and defects that underscore our daily lives come into clearer focus. Venus in Virgo is a devoted idealist, she may not be as flowery as Venus in signs that dignify her (libra, taurus, pisces), but she not only sees the potential in all things, but everything that stands in the way of reaching that potential. Venus in virgo brings an energy of discernment, practicality, and is oriented towards material results. This transit helps you evaluate whether the area that virgo occupies in your chart is operating at its full potential and if your relationships with others are a help or hindrance.
July 10: Venus in Virgo trine Chiron in Taurus
Chiron in Taurus says “I feel worthless, I don’t have x amount of money, x type of beauty, or x achievement.” To which Venus in Virgo says “Me too. Want to fix that?” Despite this being a harmonious aspect - these two bodies can play off each other’s insecurities. During this transit, it can be tempting to fix whatever issues we have with inadequacy or insecurity through more scrutiny on the self. As Chiron in Taurus struggles with embodiment, Venus in Virgo can help with that through focusing on creating a devoted practice of physical wellness - working out, hygiene, eating fresh, nutritious foods can help get one back in touch with their physicality and remember they are more than what they produce.
July 11: Venus conjunct South Node in 0 Virgo
The south node represents what was mastered in previous incarnations and what is overdeveloped and overfamiliar. The south node is karmic in nature, as such we can expect fated events in the area of the chart that virgo governs. Old friends, partners, and other relationships that contain unfinished business may resurface - these relationships may have involved a level of criticism, scrutiny, or present problems that remain unsolved. It’s time to let go of standards and values that no longer serve a practical contribution to who and what we want to be.
July 13: Sun Conjunct Mercury at 20 Cancer
Sun/Mercury conjunctions in transit are a good time for anything to do with mental faculty; reading, writing, speaking, exploration, networking, and even merchandising. July 13: Venus in Virgo square Uranus in Gemini

Uranus in Gemini seeks freedom through information and causes disruptions in communication. Venus in virgo seeks pleasure through order and boundaries, and meticulously cares for herself and others. Write down your current circumstances and swing back around in 6 months during the full moon in Cancer to see how they’ve panned out.
July 19: Mars in Gemini sextile Saturn in Aries
Saturn in Aries grounds the scatterbrained energy of Mars in Gemini into something actionable. Both of these signs are restless, but where gemini tends to bounce around and scatter energies, aries goes full force into one thing before getting bored and moving to the next. Saturn in aries helps keep mars in gemini’s mental explorations self-directed and grounded in what is personally beneficial.

Delulu is the solulu! If you have aspects to personal planets in the early degrees of Leo or Aries, this aspect is a push to dream very, very big. The executive ability in the solar sign of Leo combined with the zeal and self-driven energy of Aries can result in some real progress towards lofty goals if done properly. Neptune in Aries brings new, daring visions of what life could look like, to which Jupiter in Leo says “sure, lets make it happen!” Be mindful of pride, hubris, and legitimately out-of-touch, ego-driven desires. This energy should not be wasted chasing windmills.
July 20: Jupiter in Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius
Jupiter in Leo exacerbates the changes that Pluto is bringing to the area of your chart that Aquarius occupies. Opposing Pluto in Aquarius, these pursuits may take us further from our community, people who are not on board with your vision may present problems for you or just fall away all together, but not without some pushback. This aspect is part of the cradle pattern discussed above.
