The IWOKI is an ancestral technology, research collective, and space organization, rooted in ancestral intelligence founded by Ehime Ora and her ancestors in 2024. We honor the cosmologists of the Benin Kingdom and other African skyworkers who worked with celestial bodies for balance, alignment, and liberation.

In the 15th century, during the reign of Oba Esigie, the 16th Oba of the Kingdom of Benin, was an establishment of the Iwoki guild. Iwoki, combined from two Edo words Iwe + Uki, translates to mean “the study of the moon” and they resided comfortably within the Iwebo Palace Society. Operating as traditional astronomers and astrologers within the royal court, the Iwoki helped to expand the Kingdom through lunar tracking, celestial timing, and even weather manipulation. This disrupts everything we’ve been told, that astrology is not African nor Nigerian—but through the Kingdom of Benin, we reclaim our ancestral legacy.

The IWOKI is a return to African skies, African time, and African cosmological rhythm. We are developing tools, language, technology, and education that bridges the gap, holding spiritual precision and cultural power.

Join us and watch the skies.
